New cultural tours are a popular product in Tanzania that is mostly sold as an add-on to enrich the main safari Cultural tourism in Tanzania started as a program to help rural communities to enjoy the benefit of the tourism sector of which they are a part. The program is the effort and initiatives of the Dutch Development organization known as SNV which has been directly involved in Tanzania’s community development programs, especially in the rural areas. The main goal is that rural communities should directly benefit from tourists who visit their areas.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
Do not forget lightweight safari shoes or trainers, sandals, sunglasses, sun creams, insect repellent creams, a lightweight first aid kit, day pack for your cameras, rucksack for your safari gears and clothes. Of course, you will want to capture much of Tanzania’s wildlife, so don’t forget a camera, batteries, memory cards and charger (we have usb connectors to charge your mobile and camera in the car). A telephoto lens will be found useful as well as a pair of binoculars. In case you’re bringing any electrical equipment, the electricity is 220v.
Our guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Arusha. Tour briefing and relaxation for your tour will start the next day.
After early breakfast, we will cross Maasai/Mt. Longido – Walking safaris with Maasai warriors. – A climb up the impressive Longido Mountain – A view into the culture and daily life of the Maasai
The next day we will join the Hadzabe and interact with them, and learn so much stuff like how to make fire by using two dry sticks, the way which has been used for thousands of years. The Bushmen will show us how to use their bow and arrows, collect some tubers, roots, and fruits with the women or join the men in hunting. Hunting is done in the morning; The honey gathering is part of it, but depending on the season the honey gathering is done in the rainy season.
After breakfast, we will visit Patandi village. Patandi village is a typical rural setting on the southern lower slopes of Mount Meru, located about 15 km from Arusha town. Patandi Cultural Tourism Program is run by the Ikusura Women’s Group. We offer a tour of traditional activities of about 1-3 hours where one can visit farms and learn about farming methods and various economic activities, they have started including Batik fabric-making, Paper necklace-making, and traditional herbs.
Next day we will visit Bagamoyo which is 75 kilometers to the north of Dar es Salaam, once one of the most important trading centers on the East African Coast and a famous embarkation port for slaves from the hinterland. Here you will get to understand coastal culture including the traditional snake dance performed by coastal people.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to continue your holidays at Zanzibar or your flight back home.
