Tanzania is a significant country ornithologically. It has one of the most extensive species lists of any African country with over 1,000 species, of which over 800 species are resident and nearly 200 are regular migrants. 56 Species are of global conservation concern, of which 21 are endemic to Tanzania and a further 43 species occur in only one or two other countries.
Tanzania holds parts of several Endemic Bird Areas (EBAs): the Tanzania Malawi mountains with 32 of its restricted range species occurring in Tanzania; the Albertine Rift mountains; the Serengeti plains with all 6 restricted range species; the Kenyan mountains with 5 of the 9 restricted range species; the East African coastal forests with 5 of the 7 restricted range species, and Pemba with 4 restricted range species.

3 Hours Before Flight Time
Do not forget lightweight safari shoes or trainers, sandals, sunglasses, sun creams, insect repellent creams, a lightweight first aid kit, day pack for your cameras, rucksack for your safari gears and clothes. Of course, you will want to capture much of Tanzania’s wildlife, so don’t forget a camera, batteries, memory cards and charger (we have usb connectors to charge your mobile and camera in the car). A telephoto lens will be found useful as well as a pair of binoculars. In case you’re bringing any electrical equipment, the electricity is 220v.
Our guide will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro international airport to Arusha. Once at Arusha you will be taken to your preferred hotel and be briefed on your safari.
After earl breakfast we will drive to Arusha NP, Birding and Big game viewing for the rest of the day. Late afternoon we will return to Arusha at your hotel for Dinner and overnight.
Next morning we will depart at the hotel at 8:00am, start the official day of the safari, drive westwards towards Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Will have a short break for a Hot Lunch on the Karatu Village, after Lunch, drive to the check-in point at the Ngorongoro Conservation Gates and drive on to the Ndutu region of South Eastern Serengeti Plains. Birding and big game viewing on the way to the Lodge. Arrive for Dinner.
Days exploring the Ndutu Region, if between Jan and April, the Wildebeests should be calving at this time, plenty of calves, plenty of predators, plenty of Migratory and Breeding Birds too. Big Cats a target!

After an early breakfast, we will continue a day exploring Central Serengeti for birding. Main activities include big game viewing, Photography, and slow pace birding
Early Breakfast. Take a picnic lunch and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the Crater Floor Birding & Big game viewing the rest of the day. Here is our chance to see the endangered Black Rhino. After the excitement on the Crater Floor, we ascend the Crater walls and drive to the Hotel near the Karatu Village on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands.
The Day starts with an early breakfast. Make your picnic lunches and drive to the Lake Manyara Jungles for the rest of Day Birding & Big Game viewing. Late afternoon we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Plenty of water birds, Forest and Acacia Birds calling and in full display. Primary activities involve extensive Game viewing, Photography, and birding
After a relaxing breakfast, we will embark on an Optional Bird walk (short hike) to the Ngorongoro Highlands, birding for high-altitude birds and nature close-ups on the slopes. Those with the option of an exotic birding style will relax on the Gibbs farm Grounds, inspecting Feeders with birds coming in and out. After Lunch, drive to Tarangire National Park.
Visiting the Baobab Led Country of Tarangire National Park, at this time of the year Elephants use the Baobab tree for both shed and “snack”. The day will be birding & Big Game viewing. Breakfast, lunches, and dinners at the Lodge. Main activities include extensive Game viewing, Photography, and birding.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to continue your holidays at Zanzibar or your flight back home.
